中文摘要: 长期以来我国抗生素的广泛使用甚至滥用,导致许多耐药性、甚至多重耐药性病原菌的产生。耐药性病原菌的危害性近年来有越来越严重的趋势,而目前新抗生素和新类型抗生素资源已接近枯竭。研究发展新一代抗生素是我国公共卫生事业急需的事项。噬菌体是细菌的天然敌人,也是被寄予厚望的下一代抗生素。我们提议以模式噬菌体phi29为研究对象,主要运用生物物理手段深入研究噬菌体感染细菌过程中的详细分子机制,以期发现对抗细菌感染的新途径及新型抗生素。

英文摘要: Long term over-use or even miss-use of antibiotics in our country has led to the generation of pathogenic bacteria resistant to most, if not all, currently available antibiotics. Infections caused by drug resistant pathogenic bacteria are likely out of control due to the exhaust of available antibiotics. There is an urgent need for the development of alternative anti-infection modalities. Bacteriophages are natural enemies of bacteria and are promising antibiotics.Here we propose the structural studies of the bacteriophage phi29, for a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms in the process of phage infection. Our studies may aid the development of new classes of antibiotics.
